In the first part I shared why many people fail in transforming their bodies. In the second part, I’m going to discuss even more reasons people fail and what you can do to avoid failure.
You lose motivation
You started out with the best intentions. You were all fired up after realizing your small pooch had turned into a spare tire. You began working out and then you realized…its not that easy. Sure its simple, stick with it and reap the rewards… but its harder than you thought. You were sold a lie that it is easier than it really is.

You have no heart!
You see, before you even begin you have to ask some big questions. You might want to see results, but how bad do you really want it? Are you willing to deny yourself the food you love (yep that Double stuffed pizza is gone dough boy), spend time on something you might not enjoy (working out) and change your lifestyle and circle of friends to succeed? If not, then this whole look better naked thing might not be your thing. But you see, I believe everyone can succeed. What is needed is to clarify why you wanted it in the first place and never forget. Taking a before photo and measureable actions to hold yourself accountable are necessary. Or maybe I should just blame Tony Little and his damn fitness products.

You don’t know what you are doing and listen to fools
You realize you don’t know much about training and so you seek help. Except you ask the lowest common denominator. And follow their advice. You constantly change routines. Following one routine one week and another next week because someone else told you to is not a strategy for success. Its a sure fire way to staying out of shape.

Don’t listen to this man or his moustache
Its important to listen to others but they should be worth listening to. If you don’t have a firm grasp on what you are doing, ask somebody to help you. Just make sure that someone is actually knows what they are talking about. By reading this blog, reading websites worth reading (such as Tmuscle and Precision Nutrition) are great to brush up on your knowledge.
You are injured
It happens to everyone no matter how safe you are. I’m not talking stubbing your toe. I’m talking about tearing an ACL or slipping a disc. One day at the gym you might hear snap, crackle, pop and it won’t be the sound of a shitty tasting breakfast cereal. It will be the sound of your back snapping.

Not just a shitty tasting breakfast cereal
Its easy when injured to fall in the poor me syndrome. Don’t let it happen! The best thing you can do is to do a proper warm-up, stretching effectively after working out, eat right, and foam roll for a healthy body. Luckily I got you all covered with all those on this website. Check out these links below.

You are in the wrong environment.
Ever deal with people that add nothing to your life? They just seem to drag you down. They are called toxic people. These are the people you want to avoid like a bad case of ugly. They add no value and belittle your accomplishments. They can be close friends, family and even loved ones.

Toxic People generally have poor taste in style
I do believe you are the average of the five people you deal with the most (I’m not talking who you twitter but actual real people). Connect with people that are like-minded and support your goals. Find a work out partner, get a trainer, join an online group, whatever it takes. Your friends should encourage you and let you know that yes, you can do it!
Even if you don’t have anyone to talk to, there are still avenues out there. My page (this one) is there for you to express your concerns, consider me your Buff Fairy Godmother!

Yes you can!
You don’t enjoy working out
You wouldn’t do something you didn’t enjoy and working out for you is not enjoyable. Maybe its the neon lights, bad trance music, or the stinky guy next to you, but for some reason you just aren’t having fun. So you stop going.

You just aren’t having fun
Sometimes working out can feel like a chore. You work really hard but don’t see a lot of progress.
You might have even overworked your body to the point of feeling stressed out. Stop stressing out! Make sure your routine is enjoyable and sustainable, work at your capacity. Get plenty of rest, eat your veggies (especially Spinach, Popeyes was right!) and try to relax. Find a routine that excites you and will keep you motivated and on track.

Hopefully you now realize that these pitfalls can be avoided and with the right mind set, you will definitely succeed!
